Kimlyn White Young

Kimlyn White Young passed away at home on Monday, August 22, 2022, surrounded by family at the age of 69. She was born on September 5th, 1952, in Gilmer, Texas to Fred James White, Sr. and Bernice Knight White.

She graduated from Gilmer High School in 1971. She attended Kilgore College receiving an Associates Degree. She worked as a substitute teacher and bus driver with Union Grove ISD while her sons were school age to ensure their transfer there. She spent many years following her son's many school activities and would never miss one. She spent the rest of her time as a homemaker raising her sons and supporting her husband.

She and her husband, Billy Joe Young, built a loving family after their marriage on June 11,1976. The two were married for 40 years before Billy's passing. They had two sons and 4 granddaughters.

She is preceded in death by her husband, mother and father, mother and father-in-law Frankie and Buddy Young; brother Fred James (Jim) White Jr. and sister-in-law Judy White; brother Reagan Grant White Sr, and sister-in-law Margo White; brother-in-law Terry Young; and brother-in-law Jerel Roland.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, James Atchley (Jay) Young and wife Samantha and Jacob Joe Young; granddaughters Gabriella Jolie Young, Makynlie Jayne Young, Alyssa Jordyn Young and Ryleigh Joyanna Young; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Kimlyn will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022 at 3:00 pm in the Kelsey Cemetery, Gilmer, Texas.
