Kenneth Russell Swisher

Graveside services for Mr. Kenneth R. Swisher, age 89 of Tyler, will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Gladewater Memorial Park, with Mr. Kelly Barfield officiating. Kenneth Richard Swisher, Kurt Swisher, Tim Swisher, Michael Montgomery, Tyler Vine, Gunner Vine will serve as pallbearers.

Kenneth was born on December 27, 1928 in Tuscola, Illinois, to the late Russell Dale Swisher and Jennie Olive Fasnacht Swisher. He passed away at his home on Thursday, July 19, 2018. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a pastor in the Worldwide Church of God for over forty years, pastoring many churches in Texas and across the country. He loved riding motorcycles, target shooting, studying theology, donating his handyman and tinkering talents to those in need, and spending time with his family and spoiling the grandkids.

He is survived by his sons, Kenneth Richard Swisher and wife Janalee of Tyler, Timothy Swisher of Eureka, CA.; daughters, Regina Montgomery and husband David of Rowlett, Loretta Hearn of Ovilla, Ruth Klock of Big Sandy, Kathryn Vine of Big Sandy; fourteen grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Beverly Jean Battles Swisher.
