Kenneth Johnson

Memorial service for Mr. Kenneth Johnson, 84, of Gilmer, TX will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 6, 2019 at Croley Funeral Home with Mr. H.L. Shirey and Mr. Bruce Pace officiating. The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM prior to the service on Friday. Mr. Johnson passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 in Longview, TX.

Kenneth was born in Upshur County on January 15, 1935 to the late Joe and Thursa (Venn) Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a self-employed home builder. He married Doylene Truitt on July 28, 1955, they were married for 64 years. Kenneth was a member of the Pritchett Church of Christ, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Doylene Johnson of Gilmer; daughters, Sharon Hill and her husband, Tony, and Belinda Rodgers all of Gilmer; granddaughter, Desirae Bickley and her husband, Brad; and great granddaughter, Grace Bickley.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jeff and T.J. Johnson; sisters, Jo Ann Watts, and Jean Gage; and grandson, Lance Hill.
