Kenneth J. Mayfield, 81, of Gilmer will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at First United Methodist Church in Gilmer with Reverend Richard Laster and Fred Heath officiating. Mr. Mayfield passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2015, in Longview, Texas. Mr. Mayfield was born on October 25, 1933, in Jacksonville, Texas to Samuel Jackson Mayfield and Minnie Pearl Gandy Mayfield. He served in the U. S. Army and retired from Texas Eastman Kodak Company. Mr. Mayfield was a member of First United Methodist Church, a member of the Scottish Rites and a member of Bethesda Lodge #142 A.F & A.M where he was a past District Deputy. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Powers Mayfield of Gilmer; son, Kyle Mayfield of Gilmer; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and J. P. Hall of Hawkins; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Fred Heath of Durham, NC.; three grandchildren, Denver Hall and wife Kelli, Chance Hall and wife, Allie, Keylon Mayfield; two great grandchildren, Rylie and Charlie Ann Hall; numerous nieces and nephews. Private burial was held Monday, January 12, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer. Memorial Contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 105 N. Montgomery, Gilmer, Texas 75644.
