Ms. Kathy Lindsey Tate, age 72, formerly of Gilmer, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022 in Ft. Worth. Kathy was born in Gilmer on October 9, 1949 to the late Raymond and Kathleen Myers Lindsey. She worked earlier in life as a medical coding and billing specialist, and member of the Gilmer Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Kathy loved music, and was a talented pianist and singer, playing piano at church in her younger years, and sang backup vocals on a few 45 singles. She enjoyed crocheting, was a devoted Elvis fan, she loved reading and watching true crime and biographical books and shows. Most of all she loved her children, grandchildren, new, first great grandchild; and cherished her sisters and their special bond. Kathy’s beautiful personality, generous and selfless nature will be forever missed by those she leaves behind.
She is survived by her son, Raymond Casey Tate and wife Erin of Ft. Worth; daughters, Kerrie Cox of Ft. Worth, Shannon Loftin of Tomball; sisters, Sherian Ray Simpson of Tyler, Paula Kay Lindsey of Longview, Kristy Rene' Lindsey of Gilmer; grandchildren, Katy Riemer and husband Mike, James Addison Loftin, Dylan Thomas Cox and wife Ana, Andrew Dalton Cox, Nicholas Amery Tate, Jonathan Dean Tate; great-grandchild, Kolyns James Riemer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 pm in the Kelsey Cemetery Heritage Center on Monday, April 11, 2022, Mr. Brandon Dodd officiating. Interment will follow at Kelsey Cemetery, with Brady Holladay, Jake Holladay, Blake Smith, Steven Naylor, and Casey Tate serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Dalton Cox, Dylan Cox, Addison Loftin, and Kai Morris.
