Graveside services for Katherine Davis Lindsey, 82, of Gilmer, Texas will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Enon Cemetery in Upshur County with Bro. Madison Caffey officiating. Services are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Katherine was born on March 11, 1934 in Gilmer, Texas to Earnst and Janie Davis and passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2016 in Gilmer. She married Earl Lindsey on November 2, 1949 and moved to Longview where they raised their children before returning to Gilmer. Mrs. Lindsey was a homemaker, loved to sew, and lived her life taking care of her husband and children. Mrs. Lindsey is survived by her daughters, Peggy Caffey and husband, Bro. Madison Caffey of Gilmer, Joyce Marie Haynie and husband, Terry of Tatum; sisters, Mildred Allbright and Patsy McGrew, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Lindsey, who passed away in 2012; parents, Earnst and Janie Davis; daughter, Patricia Owens; four brothers and one sister. The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Friday at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
