Karen Casey Nobles

Karen Casey Nobles, 76, of Gilmer passed away on February 8, 2024.  She was born on November 5, 1947, in Henderson, TX to M.E. Casey and Ludie Casey.   Karen married her childhood sweetheart, Lynn E. Nobles on November 17, 1965, and they enjoyed 50 years together, prior to Lynn’s passing.

Karen loved being able to take care of her family, and both of her children agree that they couldn’t have asked for a better mother.  She liked taking care of her house, her yard and growing flowers and plants in the garden. Additionally, she enjoyed tending to her pets, especially her beloved dog, Becky.   Karen enjoyed shopping, weekend getaways, and wonderful time spent with her best friend and beloved sister, Marsha.   Karen was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Spring Hill.

She is survived by her children, Jeff and his wife Lisa, Nobles and Shelley and her husband Stephen, Latham; grandchildren, Eric (Brandi) Bullard, Austin (Hannah) Bullard, Justin (Jessica) Manteufel and Tanner Manteufel; great-grandchildren, Jacie Manteufel, James Manteufel and Parker Bullard; sister, Marsha (Doug) Jones and sisters-in-law, Belinda Parrott and Tammie (Benny) Prater and her extended family.

Karen is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lynn E. Nobles and her parents M.E. Casey and Ludie Casey.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nobles will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 11:00 am at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, with Reverend Wayne Spanhanks officiating.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of the services.  Mrs. Nobles will be laid to rest in the Floyd Cemetery, Upshur County.
