June Rice

Graveside services for Mrs. June Rice, 87, of Gilmer will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer officiated by Bro. Neal Thornburg. Mrs. Rice passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020.

She was born on June 17, 1933, in Yoakum, Texas to the late Leslie Jacob Poth and Ida Mae Kelley Poth. Mrs. Rice was a very
godly woman and was a member of First Baptist Church, a Sunday school teacher and a church secretary. She worked at a meat packing plant and was an oil field bookkeeper. Mrs. Rice had many hobbies such as camping, bowling, working outside and riding the tractor.

She was a loving wife to Jesse Howard Rice and he preceded her in death on April 23, 2016; also by her parents, and brother, James Leslie Poth.

Mrs. Rice is survived by son, Rex Rice (Paula) of Gilmer; daughters, Terry Scarborough (Ben) of Yantis. Sandra Pence (Steve) of Anchorage, Alaska; grandchildren, Amy Luna, Aaron Rice (Priscilla),Ashley Belew (Danny),Jermy Thomas (Melissa), Audrey Herring (Jordan), Annie Rice, Abby Richards (Joseph), Megan Becker, Daniel Proffer (Camille), Rebekah Proffer, Benjamin Proffer, Andrew Proffer, Sara Hayward (Land) and Wayne Pence; great grandchildren, Justice and Jacob Craven, Emma and Grayson Belew, Bryce, Brayden and Braxton Thomas; George and Caroline Richards, Lizzie Becker and Aurora Hayward.
