Memorial services for Julie Anne Steele Runk, 53, of Gilmer will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Father Hank Lanik officiating. Julia Anne (Julie) Steele Runk, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 2nd, 2013 at her home in Gilmer, Texas. Julie was born on June 16, 1959, in Houston, Texas to Hansen Hall Steele and Jeanne Pomerleau Steele. On November 11, 2011, she married Stanley Edwin Runk in Gladewater, Texas. Mrs. Runk was a homemaker and a Catholic. Julie resided in Costa Mesa, CA. for eleven years and devoted her time there to the medical office and doctors where she worked. Early in her life, Julie began a collection of Giant Panda ceramics, pictures, and novelties, which grew to the thousands, this collection gave her much joy in life and even more joy as she donated much of the collection to charities. Julie, we will miss your outgoing personality. She is survived by her beloved husband, Stan Runk of Gilmer; sisters, Sally Steele, Mary Perkins, and Teresa Hunter; brothers, John Steele and Patrick Steele; sister-in-law, Peggy Steele and brother-in-law Kenny Hunter; nephews, Shane Steele, Boo Collier, and Bryan Steele. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanne Louise Steele, father, Hansen Hall Steele and brother Michael Joseph Steele The family requests donations can be made in her memory to St. Theresa Catholic Church, 10138 Union Grove Rd., Gladewater, Texas 75647. Visitation will be on Thursday one hour prior to the funeral service.
