Julia "Janie" Swanner

Mrs. Julia “Janie” Swanner, age 76 of Big Sandy, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at her home. Janie was born in Gravette, Arkansas on September 26, 1941 to the late Harold and Lena Browning Jobe. She married Maxey Swanner on February 11, 1967 in Reno, Nevada. Janie was a homemaker and helped run an automotive business with Maxey. She was a former member of the Big Sandy Chamber of Commerce, and board member of the Chilton Cemetery Association. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and former secretary at the church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Janie is preceded in death by her parents; son, Tracy Swanner; sisters, Joann Wall, and Barbara Jobe.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Maxey Swanner of Big Sandy; son, Bobby Rowland and wife Susan of Tyler; daughter, Lori Swanner of Big Sandy; sister, Charlotte Mote and husband Wayne of Modesto, CA.; grandchildren, Josh Ward and wife Jessica of Longview, Jalyn Ward of Big Sandy, Tiffany Dotson and husband Robert of Tyler; great-grandchildren, Paige, Payton and Shawn.
The Family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins. Graveside services will follow on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM under the pavilion at Chilton Cemetery in Big Sandy Cemetery, with Dr. Jack Hetzel officiating.
