Judy Carol Nicks

Mrs. Judy Carol (Proper) Nicks, age 78 of Gladewater, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 in Longview. Judy was born in Pampa, Texas on December 11, 1943 to Homer M. "Pete" Proper and Bettie Jo Nolen Proper. She was raised in Malvern, Arkansas where she attended school from primary through her graduation. She lived most of her adult life in Anchorage, Alaska, where she managed the ABC Auto Parts store for 18 years, before retiring to a farm in Winnsboro, with husband Ivan, and then to Gladewater. Judy loved crafting of all kinds in her spare time and was a Christian. She was an animal lover, most especially her cats and dog.

She is survived by her loving husband of over 30 years, Mr. Ivan Webster Nicks of Gladewater; mother, Bettie Jo Coffey of Gladewater; sister, Jacqui Olien and husband Joseph of Gladewater; step-daughter, Ginger Bateman and husband Dave of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho; two granddaughters, Jackie Walters of Alaska, Shana Nicks of Post Falls, Idaho; three great-granddaughters, and one great-grandson.

She is preceded in death by her father, Pete Proper; step-daughter, Shelly Nicks.
