Funeral services for Juanita Lowrance, 93, of Hawkins will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 27, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church of Hawkins with Reverend David Hicks and Reverend Allison Byerley officiating. Interment will be in the Hawkins Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins. In the early morning hours of Monday, July 22, 2013, Juanita Chamberlain Lowrance passed peacefully into heaven to have a joyous reunion with our Lord and her loved ones. Juanita was born to James and Dora Jenkins Chamberlain on October 14, 1919 in Norton, KS. She was the consummate educator. She taught the fourth grade for Hawkins ISD, and then became the high school librarian. Reading was her love because she knew that it was the backbone to education. She had degrees from Texas A&M " Commerce. Juanita graduated from Longview High School. It was after graduation while she was working for the superintendent of schools, Mr. Foster, that she met Robert Lowrance. She always claimed it was because she handed out the paychecks! They married on June 12, 1940, and had a joyous life together for 67 years. There were coaching stops for the Lowrances in Longview, Sabine, Ennis and Iraan. Finally they settled in Hawkins in 1948 and never left. Juanita was a lover of all things Hawkins. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hawkins, Wood County Retired Teachers, Hawkins Study Club, Delta Kappa Gamma and the Hawkins Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed staying in touch with Hawkins exes. She was loved by all. She is survived by her son, Robert Lowrance Jr. and wife, Michelle, and daughters, Mikala, Lela Talley, Keta Bacas and Maya Evans; daughter, Nancy Walker and husband, Fletcher, and son, Russell, daughter, Mary Ann Williams and husband, Troy, and their children, Kelle Coleman, Keith and Kevin; brother, Tommy Chamberlain; other survivors include great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. There are numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Juanita is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents; sister, Virginia Miller; brother, James Chamberlain, Jr.; and beloved grandson, Andy Walker. Pallbearers will be Rusty Walker, Keith Williams, Kevin Williams, Wayne Coleman, Fletcher Walker and Troy Williams. The family would like to especially share our appreciation to the entire staff of Park Place Nursing in Tyler for the compassionate care and love shown to our mom. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2013 at Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins. In lieu of flowers, a gift to the Robert Lowrance Scholarship Fund at the Stephen F.
