Joyce Patterson Porter

Joyce Patterson Porter, age 90 of Carrollton, Texas passed away at her home on Thursday, February 10, 2022. She was born in Gilmer, Texas on September 10, 1931 to the late Loren and Virtice Hackler Patterson.

Joyce was a dedicated homemaker and attended Oak Hill Baptist Church. She loved cooking for her family and tending to her vegetable garden. She will be greatly missed by the many friends and family members she leaves behind.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Burrell “B.J.” Porter, Jr; and her parents.

Joyce is survived by her son, Kenneth Porter and wife Marina of Flower Mound, Texas; daughter, Linda Porter Smith and husband Todd of Dallas; grandchildren, Shannon Smith of Plano, Eric Porter of Austin, and Meganne Porter of Irving; and one great grandchild, Tatum Porter.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, February 15, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer, Texas with Mr. Todd Smith officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Croley Funeral Home of Gilmer, beginning at 1:00 pm.
