Diana - Joy Newsom Tinsley of Huntsville, Texas passed away on Friday, March 18th at the age of 84. A graveside funeral service will be held at the city cemetery in her hometown of Ore City, Texas at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24th. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 23rd at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana, Texas at 6:00-8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29th. Joy was born to Douglas and Clementine Newsom on August 8th of 1931. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 50 years, Gerald Tinsley. She is survived by sons, Spike Tinsley and his wife Rosanne, her son Steve and his wife Mary, her son Kyle and his wife Tara, and her daughter Vanessa Raanes and her husband Rick. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Joy was a devout Methodist. She greatly enjoyed her Bible study and Sunday School classes and counted her several Mission trips among her most important and rewarding life experiences. She was a woman of many talents and interests. She was a Master Gardener, a member of the Audubon Society, and a member of the �WOW� social group. In her younger years she was both a Yoga and Arts & Crafts instructor at the YMCA in Houston. Her devotion to her family was absolute. Joy embodied the Christian values of Love, Kindness, Generosity, and Forgiveness. Her smile, her laugh, her gentle presence will be missed by all who knew her.
