Joy Fay Allen, beloved sister, mother, and grandmother, passed away on September 24, 2023, at the age of 78. She was born on March 21, 1945, in Gilmer, Texas to her parents, Sara Moses and Verna Brown Moses.

Joy will be remembered for her kind and compassionate nature. She touched the lives of many through her selflessness and unwavering support for her family and friends. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

 She is survived by her loving sons, Bobby Wheeler Jr of Gilmer and Christopher Wheeler (Samantha) of Boerne; daughters Laura Ann Wheeler of Gilmer and Cara Palmer (David) of Gilmer; as well as brothers Mike Moses of Gilmer, Doug Moses of Tellico Plains, TN, and Phillip Moses of Pittsburg. Her sisters Sara Fielden of Gilmer and Judy Sandlin of Tellico Plains, TN.

In addition to her immediate family, Joy leaves behind a legacy in the form of her 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She delighted in their laughter and took immense pride in witnessing their accomplishments. They will always carry a piece of their grandmother's love within them.

Joy lived her life with grace and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be greatly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. As we mourn the loss of a dear sister, mother, and grandmother, let us also celebrate the life that Joy Fay Allen lived and honor her memory.

A graveside service will be held to honor Joy's memory at Simpsonville Cemetery in Upshur County, Texas on September 27, 2023. The service will commence at 11:00 AM with Brother Johnny Simmons officiating.
