Services for Mrs. Jo Lindsey, 92, of Perryville Community, Wood County will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Perryville Baptist Church in Wood County with Bro. Leslie Mills and Chris Lummus officiating. Burial will follow at Perryville Cemetery under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. Lindsey passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in Longview. She was born on November 1, 1918, in Wood County, Texas, to George "Gus" Shirley and Julia Carden Shirley. Mrs. Lindsey was a seamstress before her retirement, member of Perryville Baptist Church, member of Perryville Fire Department and very active in the Perryville Community. Mrs. Lindsey is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, M. C. "Buck" and Betty Lindsey of Longview; daughter, Shirley Glasscock of Mesquite; daughter-in-law, Kathy Lindsey of Gilmer; brother, George Shirley of Perryville; sisters, Faye Sharp of Baytown, Frankie Gatlin of Dallas, Bronzie Dixon of Perryville; sister-in-law, Anita Shirley of Mesquite; 5 grandchildren, Tracie Bigham Guinea(Robert), Barry Lindsey(Kristi), Misti Mills(Eric), Brandi Cato(Josh), Matthew Lindsey(Brittany); 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Merce Lindsey; son, Sam Lindsey; sister, Lena B. Huggins; brothers, Dan and George David Shirley. Memorials contributions may be made to Perryville VFD, P.O. Box 727, Winnsboro, Texas 75494. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 3, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
