Joseph "Joe" D. Woodson

Services for Mr. Joseph D. "Joe" Woodson, 52, of Gilmer will be held 3:00 P.M, Friday, November 5, 2010, at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Richard Laster officiating. Interment will follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Upshur County under the direction of Croley Funeral Home. Mr. Woodson passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 in Gilmer. Joe was born September 4, 1958, in Sherman, Texas to Harold D. and Viva Lea Rutherford Woodson. Mr. Woodson was a band director, former city councilman and a former member of the Gilmer Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Robin Atkinson Woodson of Gilmer; son and daughter-in-law, J. Grant and Lauri Woodson of Longview, son, J. Collin Woodson and Megan Moriarty of Gilmer; lifelong friend, Dr. James Ochoa of Sterling, VA.; Uncle, Dumont Rutherford of Montrose, CO; Aunt, Jean Bolin of Lafayette, LA; and numerous close relatives.
