Joseph “Jodie” Duhon, 89, peacefully passed away on September 16, 2020, at his home in Gilmer, Texas. He was born on November 9, 1930 in Gilmer, Texas to the late Jerry and Joyce Bishop Duhon. He married Marguerite Garlock in Midway City, California in 1952. Jodie proudly served in the United States Navy, fighting in the Korean War. He was a Tool and Die Maker for many years; and then later was a Truck Driver. Jodie was a member of the K of C and was also a member of the St. Theresa Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years; Marguerite Duhon; sons, Joe Neal Duhon and wife, Debbie, Michael Dean Duhon and wife, Cheryl, Tony Duhon, and Thomas Glenn Duhon and wife, Jerrilyn all of Gilmer; daughters, Laurie Whinnery and husband, Keith of Royce City, Mary Fisher and husband, Scott of Longview, Jean-Marie Miesch and husband, Michael of McKinney, and Claire Duhon of Hampton, Virginia; brother, Bobby Dean Duhon and wife, Rosemarie of Stuart, Florida; sister, Renee Duhon and husband, Jim Scheinder of Lake Jackson; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Mr. Duhon is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Raymond Duhon.
Mass of Celebration will be private for family only. Arrangements under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Private interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer.
Pallbearers will be Michael Garcia, Presley Duhon, Joe Neal Duhon, Michael Dean Duhon, Tony Duhon, and Thomas Duhon.
