John Wade Jones

Graveside services for John Wade Jones, 62, of Hawkins will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2020, at Hawkins City Cemetery with Pastor Edward Crouch officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Croley Funeral Home. Mr. Jones passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2020, in Tyler.

John was born July 16, 1957 in Miami, Florida to Bobby Joe Jones and Donna Jean Akins. He worked as a maintenance supervisor. John was an active member of Summit Heights Fellowship Church. He also served as a volunteer firefighter in Hawkins and had also served as the Fire Marshall at one time. John enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pool and spending time with family and friends. John was a hardworking, kind natured man whose family was his life. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather; who will not soon be forgotten by all the family and friends he leaves behind.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Darlene Jones; mother Donna Jones; three children Jackie Jones, Debbie Jones, Chris Jones and wife Cassidy; sister Kathryn Orsburn and husband Jeff; four brothers Tom Jones, Alan Jones and wife Cathy, Charlie Jones and Billy Jones; five grandchildren David Mullins, Jaycie Spruell, Serenity Jones, Gunner Lane and Jocelyn Weatherby.

John is preceded in death by his father Bobby Joe Jones and granddaughter Kamryn Darlene Weatherby.
