John T. Murray

Funeral services for Mr. John T. Murray, 63, of Gladewater, will be Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater, Texas with Jon Wilson and Robert Slusser officiating. Interment will follow at Gladewater Memorial Park.

Mr. Murray passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017 in Center, Texas. He was born on February 15, 1953 in Monroe, Louisiana to Jene and Pearl Murray and relocated to Gladewater in 1965. He attended the North Main and Gay Avenue Church of Christ in Gladewater and retired from Eastman Chemical in 2007 after 28 years. He loved his family, was an avid hunter, loved riding his Harley motorcycle and camping.

Mr. Murray is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rhonda Jean Murray, son; Christopher Murray of Flint, Texas, daughter; Kristi Brice and husband Timothy of Tyler, brother; Charles Murray and wife Debbie of Big Sandy, sisters; Kathleen Murray Bateman of Gladewater and Carrol Ann Murray of Kilgore; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; best friend, who was more like a brother, Bill “Scooter” Edney and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jene and Pearl Murray.
Pallbearers for the service will be Mark Barnhill, Skylar Edney, Mason Edney, Zack Fogle, Ken Martin and Brian Smith.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill "Scooter" Edney and Wayne "Snuffy" Smith.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Main and Gay Avenue Church of Christ in Gladewater, Texas.
