John Milton Lowery

Funeral services for John Milton Lowery, 80, of Winona will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 30, 2013 at Friendship Baptist Church in Gladewater with Reverend Scotty Fife and Dr. Rusty Brady officiating. His graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 30, 2013 at the Cornett Cemetery in Cass County. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. Mr. Lowery passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013. Mr. Lowery was born on October 8, 1933, in Cornett, TX to Johnny G. and Elsie Hampton Lowery. He was a retired farmer having raised produce for and was an active member of the Tyler Farmers Market and veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Lowery was a member and Deacon of Friendship Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Joan Lowery of Winona; sons and daughter-in-law, Dale Lowery of Troup, John Lowery of Winona and James and Cindy Lowery of Hawkins; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Leonard Crenshaw of Douglasville; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Lowery is preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter; brothers, Willard Lowery and Wendall Lowery; and sister, Erlene Mitchell. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.
