Joel "Ricky" Richard Choate

Memorial services for Joel “Ricky” Choate, 37, of Gladewater, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017 in Longview, are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Croley Funeral Home of Gladewater, with Bro. Bucky Goza officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Ricky was born on September 24, 1979 in Longview, Texas to James Edward Choate and Deanna Harper Choate. Ricky previously worked for a house leveling company and was a Baptist. He loved motorcycles, and fishing. Ricky loved to have a good time, and lived life to the fullest. He will be truly missed by his loving family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Deanna (Harper) Choate of Gladewater; grandmother, Glenna Harper of Gladewater; daughter, Lexi Williams Choate of Gladewater; son, Blake Benjamin Choate of Carthage; brother, James E. Choate, III of Gladewater; sisters, Debra Michelle Clark and husband Chris of Tyler, Brittney Dickerson and husband Kevin of LaMarque; nieces, Chelsea Stroud and husband Michael of Tyler, Kyla and Kallie of Tyler; nephews, Tyrus R. Choate of Big Sandy, and Colt of Tyler; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, James E. Choate, II.
