Joe Wayne Mays

Mr. Joe Wayne Mays, age 51, of Ore City, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021 in Longview. Joe was born in Katy, Texas on October 2, 1970 to Jo and Paula Mays Owens. He married Brittany Michele Thornburgh on October 1, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Joe was also a member of Longview MAGA.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Jeremy Owens and sister, Michelle Atteberry.
He is survived by his loving wife Brittany Mays; sons, Zachary Mays and Nicolas Thornburgh; daughters, Mary Mays and Hannah Thornburgh; brother, Daniel Owens (Nikki); granddaughter, Madeline Mays; and special nieces, Natile and Chelsea Owens; as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Joe will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the Chapel of Croley Funeral Home of Gilmer, with Rev. Freeman Pierce officiating, visitation will begin at 1:00 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Danville Cemetery.
Pallbearers for the service will be Daniel Owens, Zach Mays, Daylen Martin, Justin Thornburgh, Joshua Thornburgh, Cole Maverick, Nicholas Thornburgh, Daniel Sifford, and Brandon Stephenson.
