Joe` Rex Kelly

Joe Rex Kelly, 83, of Gladewater, TX, passed from this world and through the gates of heaven on Thursday, May 2, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at Good Shepherd Hospital, in Longview, TX. He was born on March 18, 1930, in Gladewater, to Jiddy Joe and Gracie Allen Kelly. A visitation will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, May 4, at West Mountain Cemetery, immediately followed by a graveside service at 2:00pm. Bro. Doyle Rust will be officiating and arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater, TX. Joe graduated from Gladewater High School, and married the love of his life, Ruby Hazel (Roach) Kelly on September 29, 1950, and soon settled in West Mountain where they raised a family and spent the next 63 years happily married. They were active in the West Mountain community, and he loved fishing, gardening and spending quality time with his family. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Jiddy Joe and Gracie Allen Kelly and brothers, Lester and Jimmy Kelly. Joe is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Hazel (Roach) Kelly of West Mountain, TX; sons, Johnny Davis and wife, Shirley, of Longview, TX, Steve Kelly and wife, Janet, of Kilgore, TX; grandchildren, Johnathan Davis of Texarkana, TX, Russell Davis and wife, Lisa, of Longview, TX, and Elizabeth "Ginger" Kelly of San Antonio, TX; great grandson William Davis; brother, Winston Kelly and wife, Melba Jean; sisters Melba Humphreys, Wanda Jean East and Ann Perryman; and many more loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
