" Funeral services for Joe Jack Lyle, 81, of Gilmer will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 5, 2011, at Antioch Baptist Church with Bro. David Snelson, Bro. Michael Pool and Dr. Ray Thompson officiating. Interment will be in the Grice Cemetery in Upshur County. Arrangements are by Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Lyle passed away Saturday, September 3, 2011, at his residence. Mr. Lyle was born September 16, 1929, in Big Sandy, Texas to Horace and Ola Langford Lyle. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War, a retired dairyman, a member and deacon of Antioch Baptist Church and had lived in Upshur County most of his life. He married Norma Dell Morris in the Grice Community on December 30, 1954. Mr. Lyle is survived by his wife, Norma Morris Lyle of Grice; daughters and sons-in-law, Ava and Joe Pool of Grice, Lynn and Eddie Elms of Grice, and Delaine and Bill Daniels of Tyler; sister, Mavis Dacus of Grice; grandchildren, Jeffrey Pool, Michael Pool, Kristin Pool, Meredith Elms, Mallory Elms, Macy Elms, and Jackson Daniels; great-grandchildren, Eli Pool, Henry Pool, Ethan Pool, and Elyssa Pool; several nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be Larry Henson, Brian Johnson, Alan Morris, Stephen Morris, Mickey Langford and Donald Bert Henry. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of Antioch Baptist Church of Grice, Jed Whitaker, Larry Johnson, Dennis Johnson, Stephen Gipson and Don Cox; and Robert Anderson, Cody Darby, Tommy Gipson, David Jones, Don Ross, Weldon Senn and Wayne Thompson. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m, Sunday, September 4, 2011, at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
