Joan Elizabeth Lynn Lowery went home to be with her savior on Friday December 6, 2019.
Joan was born February 5, 1934 in New Orleans Louisiana. She graduated from Kildare High School where she excelled in basketball.
She met the love of her life John Milton Lowery and they were married April 26, 1958. They lived a long and happy life until his passing in 2013.
Joan worked and retired from Trane after many years of dedicated service. After her retirement her true love of life began. Joan was lovingly known as Mamaw and dedicated herself to her family. Joan and John farmed and sold their produce for many years at the Tyler Farmers Market where they were respected and loved by all.
Joan was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church of Gladewater and attended regularly until her decline in health. Joan continued to be an example of what a Godly woman should be until her passing. Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren brought great joy to her life.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents John and Olive Jackson Lynn, her Mother and father in law Johnny and Elsie Hampton Lowery, Her infant daughter, her great granddaughter Courtney Reed and her loving husband John.
Those left to cherish her memory are her Dale Lowery, John Lowery and James and Cindy Lowery. Grand Children Tiffani Hebert, Joan and Rob Pope, Daniel Lowery, Michelle and Curtis Burkel, Melinda Ann Lowery and Phil Hook, Lauri and Bobby Wallace, Jessica Lowery and Bradley Van Wert, Jamie Lowery and Jared Lowery. 17 Great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother and sisters, John and Jann Lynn, Louise Copeland, Jane and Bill Walters and Norma Calhoun and Wayne Belt. Brother and Sister in Laws Leonard and Linda Crenshaw and Doris Lowery-Baugh as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jared Lowery, Gage Gordon, Tyler Gordon, Drew Gordon, Johnny Pope and Bradley Van Wert. Honorary pallbearers will be Bently Hodge, Karter Beaird, River Smith, John Jacobs, Justin Jacobs and Sam Hook.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church of Gladewater. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Cornett Cemetery in Cass County at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 9, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Croley Funeral Home of Gladewater.
