Graveside services for Jimmy Lee McGowen, 70, of Hawkins will be Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hawkins Cemetery in Hawkins. The family will receive friends starting at 10:00 AM next door at Croley Funeral Home of Hawkins. Jimmy passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at his home in Hawkins.

Jimmy was born on October 6, 1946 in Lubbock to the late, G.W. and Letha Louise Florence McGowen. He worked as a diesel mechanic for many years before retiring. He enjoyed woodworking and salt water fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Nita Hicks McGowan of Hawkins; a son, Mark McGowen of Hawkins; daughters, Tammie Lumpkin and husband Scott of Hawkins, Charlene Cintron and husband Eladio of Tyler; a sister, Betty Tate of Lubbock; grandchildren, Brandon Formyduval, Jade, Cody, Jena McGowen, Crystal Mackin, Lorilli and Annie Lumpkin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Corky McGowen, and sister, Wilma McMullen.
