Jimmy Don Cypert, 76, of Gilmer, TX passed away on December 15, 2022. Jimmy was born on December 10, 1946 to Bob and Dard Cypert in Knox City, TX.
After he graduated Ector High School, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a SGTE-5. He was honorably discharged in Fort Gordon, GA.
Jimmy met his one true love, Marty Yeilding, whom he married April 15, 1967. They were married 55 wonderful years and had two beautiful daughters, Shasta and Tobi.
Jimmy pursued a career in the oilfield in sales, coil-tubing and nitrogen supervision in many U.S. states, Canada and three foreign countries.
In 2010 Jimmy retired and enjoyed spending time with his family, boating, telling jokes, stories, and cooking. He loved classic muscle cars. In his younger days, he raced in enduro motorcycle events, as well as built and raced cars.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Dard Cypert, his in-laws Blanche and Albert Yeilding, his sister-in-law Bonnie and brother-in-law Ray Bryant.
He is survived by his wife Marty, daughters Shasta Plumer (Mark), Tobi Stann (Joe), grandchildren Danica (Daniel), Cameron (Macy), Sydnee, Sebastian, and Lyric. He also had four great grandchildren, Lane, Hadley, Alaska, and Chandler (any day now), his sister Verla Albus (Fred), brother Rob Cypert, sister-in-law Donna Car (Roger), sister-in-law Kay Forrester (Larry), and many nieces and nephews, and a host of life long friends.
Service will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 2426 State Hwy 155 S. in Gilmer, TX on Thursday, December 22nd at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to Faith Baptist Church.
