Jimmy "Jim" Cloyd Alvey, 86, passed away on December 7, 2024, at his home in White Oak surrounded by his wife and family. He was born on March 18, 1938, in Gladewater, TX to O.C. and Della (Starnes) Alvey.
Jim lived his life with a deep commitment to his family, always finding joy in the moments they shared together. He held a special place in his heart for those he loved, and his warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew him. He chose to serve his country with unwavering dedication, enlisting in the Air Force. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and enjoyed fellowship with his fellow veterans.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, June Alvey of White Oak, Tx; son, Jimmy Ray Isonhood and wife Christy of Gilmer, Tx; daughter, Renee Mills of Pearland, Tx, Phyllis Renee Greenwood and husband Raymond of Mineral Wells, Tx; grandchildren, Jakob Isonhood and wife Catherine, Shara Allen and husband Tim, Chelsea Mills, Layla Mills and Kinzey Fitzhugh; great grandchildren, Kyla Allen, Will Allen and Leyton Watson; brother in law and sister in law, Charles and Lana Turner; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Della Ruth Pitts, Lois Settle, Fay May and Claude Evaline Alvey; brother in law, Ronnie Turner; grandson, Christopher Isonhood.

The funeral service to honor Jim's life will be held on December 11, 2024, starting at 1:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, Texas. Friends and family are invited to gather to pay their respects and celebrate the remarkable life he led. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer.
The pallbearers are Mackey Pitts, Tim Allen, Phil Fleming, Stephen Ferguson, Charles Turner, Jakob Isonhood and Matt Terrell.
The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Alzeihmers Association.
