Jim "Porky" Baird

Funeral services for Jim “Porky” Baird, 64, of Waskom, Texas will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Bro. Preston Dozier and Bro. Ivey Shelton officiating. Burial will follow at Paron Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Baird passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Mr. Baird was born June 23, 1956 in Boron, California to the late Homer Baird and Janey Willis Baird. Jim worked as a Crew Superintendent for DeViney Construction until his retirement. Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waskom. Jim married Ronda Sue Lee Baird in Big Sandy on June 29, 2019. Porky will not soon be forgotten by all the family and friends he leaves behind.

Jim is survived by his wife Susie Lee Baird; son Michael Douglas Baird; sister Jennifer Bailey and husband Jeff; brothers Bill Baird and wife Regina, Kelly Baird and wife Lynda and Barry Baird and wife JoLynn; mother-in-law Connie Lee; brothers-in-law Tracy Lee and Scotty Lee and wife Dawn; grandchildren Waylon Baird and wife Audrey, Katie Allen and husband Austin and Mason “Tuffy” Baird and wife Kailey; great grandchildren Dally Ray Baird, Garrett Allen, John Mark Jackson, Hunter James Allen, Paislee Marie Baird and Summer Reighn Baird; and many nieces and nephews.
