Funeral service for Jessie Denton, 64, of Gilmer will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gilmer with Tim Mask, Conducting. Interment will be in Kelsey Cemetery in Upshur County. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. Denton passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015 in Gilmer. Mrs. Denton was born April 27, 1951 in Texarkana, AR to Charles Franklin and Lois Lorene McGuire Pettit. She was a homemaker, self-employed cosmetologist and hairdresser and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is survived by her sons, James Cozad and wife, Jeri Ann of Longview, Clinton Curtis of Gladewater, Tommy Denton and wife, Chasity of Gilmer and Caleb Denton of Gilmer; daughters, Teri Te"o and husband, Larry of Kingwood, April Chidester and husband, Jacobi of Nacogdoches and Emma Boyum and husband, Jared of Hallsville; brothers, Maurice Pettit of Burke, South Dakota and Martin Cummins of Galveston; sisters, Hershey Capps and husband, Mickey of Garvin, OK, Susan Latham of Gilmer, Margaret Otwell and husband, Jack of Texarkana, Claire Morgan of Mississippi; and 19 " grandchildren. Pallbearers will be James Cozad, Clinton Curtis, Tommy Denton, Caleb Denton, Bobby Cozad, Clint Curtis, III and Jared Te"o. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
