Jerry Wayne Porter

Services for Jerry Wayne Porter, 75, of Gladewater, will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at 2 P.M. at Grace Baptist Church, 212 E. George Richey Road, Gladewater, with Brother Ernest Hodge officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. Born on July 17, 1937, in Arp, Texas, he died on Sunday, January 20, 2013. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Korean War. He was a welder for fifty years and a member of the Grace Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Murray Acuff of New Braunfels; 2 granddaughters, Ashley Davis and Brianna Phillips, both of New Braunfels; 1 great-grandson, Garrett Davis of New Braunfels; brother, H. L. "Coy" Porter of Lake o" the Pines; 2 sisters, Betty Pope and Mary Hinderer, both of Longview; and several nieces and nephews. There is no visitation.
