Services for Jerry Mack McKnight, 78, of Gilmer will be held 2 P.M. on Friday, January 31, 2014,at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Mr. Jack Wilkie officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Burial will follow at Morris Cemetery in Upshur County. Mr. McKnight passed away on Monday, January 27, 2014 in Gilmer. He was born on September 26, 1935, in Upshur County to Claude and Elma Marie Venn McKnight. Mr. McKnight married Nancy Chilcoat on September 21, 1958. He was an operations supervisor for Chevron before his retirement. Mr. McKnight was a member of Pritchett Church of Christ, a member of Lovington NM. Lodge #46 and Bethesda Masonic Lodge #142 AF & AM. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jerry Lee McKnight and sister, Betty S. Truitt. Mr. McKnight is survived by his wife, Nancy McKnight of Gilmer; son, Michael McKnight of Santa Fe, NM; brother, Olen M. McKnight and wife, Lily of Gilmer; grandchildren, Dusty McKnight, Chase McKnight, Michael Lee McKnight, Braeanna McKnight, Christopher McKnight and Elisa McKnight; great grandchildren, Issac McKnight, Desmess McKnight, Phoebe McKnight and Pheona McKnight; nieces Rhonda Welch and Allison McKnight Travis. Pallbearers for the service will be Bruce Watts, Bruce Pace, Mickey Spencer, Kenneth Johnson, Kenneth Travis, Noel Venn and Ray Mack Gilbert. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
