Jerry Don Castleberry

Graveside services for Jerry Don Castleberry, 76, of Longview will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 21, 2017, at the Gladewater memorial Park in Gladewater with Mr. Jimmy Chasteen officiating. Mr. Castleberry passed away Friday, July 14, 2017 in Ft. Worth, Texas.

He was born December 24, 1940 in Gladewater to the late Raymond Monroe Castleberry and Helen Maxine Hogue. He attended Pine Tree High School. Jerry was an active cyclist who belonged to many clubs. He enjoyed spending time outdoors with family and friend. Mr. Castleberry was adopted by the Lakota Sioux Nation and was very proud of this affiliation. Jerry will be truly missed by all the loving family and friends he leaves behind.

Mr. Castleberry was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Helen Castleberry; brother, James Allen Castleberry, and three children, Jerry Don “Thunder” Castleberry, Michael Castleberry and LaJuana Okeke and two grandchildren.

He is survived by four children, LeNay Okeke, Raymond Alexander, Jubal Alexander and Jerry Castleberry; sister, Mary Ann Khan; thirteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren as well as many other loving family and friends.

The family will receive friends at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
