Jaykob Arron Dodd, 16 of Hawkins, TX passed away on June 3, 2023. He was born on July 10, 2006, in Longview, Texas to Brandon Dodd and Jamie Creswell. Jaykob was an accomplished artist and was recently notified that he has won a national gold medal at the Scholastic Art and Writing Award, which is the largest and most prestigious art contest in the country. He was a student at Hawkins High School where he was well loved by many. He was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Those left to cherish Jaykob’s memory are his parents Brandon and Mandy Dodd of Gilmer and Jamie Creswell and Bobby Miller of Hawkins; sisters, Maraina Clark, Adalyne Dodd and Callie Keeling and husband Dillon; grandparents, Lloyd and Pam Dodd of Gilmer, Marijane Henderson of Gilmer, Steve Henderson of Hawkins, and Ann Fuller of Gilmer, great-grandmother, Marti LeBoulanger of Gilmer and girlfriend Kelsie Defur of Hawkins as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jaykob was preceded in death by his grandfather Mel Fuller.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Friday June 9, 2023 at the Gilmer Civic Center 1218 US Hwy 271 N. Gilmer, Texas 75644 with Bishop Dennis Means conducting under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Interment will follow at Enoch Cemetery in Gilmer. A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday June 8, 2023 from 6 until 8PM in the Chapel of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
