Janice Carolyn Cox

Janice Cox, 76, of Gilmer, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 2, 2023, in Gilmer. Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, March 5, 2023, at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer with Reverend David Thornton officiating. Interment will follow at Morris Cemetery. A visitation will be held 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.

Janice Carolyn Cox was born April 11, 1946, in Gilmer, Texas, to Foy R. and Jesse Belle Hawkins McLendon. She worked as a seamstress for many years and attended New Hope Baptist Church. Janice enjoyed shopping, bird-watching, fishing and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James E. Cox and a grandson, Donny Gillham.

Janice is survived by a son, Troy Cox and wife, Barbara; a daughter, Jennifer Burns and husband, Jimmy Adams; a sister, Martha McBride; grandchildren, Jodi Jackson and husband, Nick, Patrick Cox and wife, Lacy, Jeremy Cox; twelve great grandchildren; two grand-dogs; one grand-cat and one great grand-dog.
