Janet Moon

Funeral service for Ms. Janet Moon, 84, of Gilmer, Texas will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at the Church of Power with Bro. Mark Huffines and Bro. Larry Gilliam officiating, interment to follow at Cherokee Cemetery in Upshur County.
Ms. Moon was born on September 6, 1935 in Lake Worth, Texas to the late Ben and Maude Reynolds Steel and passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 in Longview. She owned B&M Trophy and was a founding member of the Church of Power in Gilmer. Janet loved to watch and feed the birds, she also enjoyed gardening and reading.
Ms. Moon is survived by her son, Paul Moon and wife, Nan of Hallsville; daughters, Beth Gilbert and husband, Ray and Twila Collins and husband, Roy all of Gilmer; brother, James Steel of North Richland Hills; 6 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Moon; and sisters, Ada Mortensen, Jean Davis, and Joyce Spencer.
