Celebration of life services for Janell Duncan Tolbert, 69, of Gladewater will be Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gladewater. Ms. Tolbert passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 in Gladewater. Janell was born December 23, 1946 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Denman Duncan and Lois Camp. Among her many professions, she worked for the Gladewater Mirror and for the United States Census Bureau. Her true passion was art and, in her fifties, she fulfilled a lifelong dream by earning a Fine Arts degree from UT Tyler. Janell was a self-sufficient, independent, strong willed, and adventurous free spirit who lived life on her terms. She eagerly tackled any project no matter how big or small including building her own home with minimal outside assistance. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who would do anything for her family. Janell will be remembered as an amazing woman who will be missed by all those she leaves behind. She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law Tracy and Trent Choate and Brandee and David Rush; brother and sister-in-law Richard and Gerry Camp; two sisters and brothers-in-law Geri and Joe Ed King and Cathy and Karl Grimes; eight grandchildren Trenton, Tara, Treavor, Tessa, Trace, Gage, Brendon, and Harrison; numerous nieces, nephews as well as many other loving family and friends. The family will receive friends following Janell"s life celebration.
