James Edward Wallace

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Edward Wallace, fondly known to friends and family as Gator. Born on December 10, 1950, in Houston, Texas, Gator lived a full and vibrant life until he left us peacefully on January 26, 2025, in Longview, Texas, at the age of 74.

James was a beloved husband to Ethel Faye Wallace, and together they shared a love that spanned decades. His spirit and laughter brought joy to all who knew him. As a dedicated Mason and Shriner, he embodied the values of brotherhood and service, making a lasting impact on those around him.

James was a man of many talents. He once owned C&J Tires, where his passion for hard work and community shone brightly. His time in the oilfield and as a self-employed hauler of pulpwood showcased his commitment to providing for his family and supporting the local economy. Gator’s stories of long hauls and tire repairs will forever echo in the hearts of those lucky enough to hear them.

James is survived by his beloved wife, Ethel "Faye" Wallace; sons, James Edward Wallace II, William T Wallace, Dominic Ward, John Marlow and wife Angie, and Darrell Caldwell; daughters, Tami Macias and husband Javier, Sonia Hernandez, and Johnny Faye Long; as well as 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
