James was born August 11, 1953 in Gladewater to the late William Stanley and Hazel Wanell Smith Pullen. James was better known as “Buffalo” by all his family and friends. He was a master carpenter and enjoyed wood working. When he wasn’t working Buffalo liked fishing or having a drink and visiting with his family and friends. James was always willing to help someone in need if he could. Buffalo will not soon be forgotten by the family and friends he leaves behind. James is survived by his son Michael Dean Pullen of Gladewater; two brothers Dewayne Pullen and wife Channary of Gladewater and Kenneth Pullen and wife Verna of Shreveport; sister Sandy Beall of Chalk Hill; three grandchildren James Wesley Pullen, Rachel Christine Pullen and Addison Grace Pullen; special friends and caretakers Dena Boyett, Sharron Boyett, MaKenna Boyett and Addyson Boyett as well as many other loving family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents William Stanley and Hazel Wanell Pullen.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2022, at the Rock Springs Cemetery in Gladewater. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.
The family would like to thank the staff of Prime Care Hospice for all their devoted care for James.
