Services for James M. Hall, 64, of Bettie, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 18, 2017, at the Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer, with Rev. Danny Trimble and Rev. Holland Atchley officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer. James passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in Gilmer.
James was born September 29, 1952 in Upshur County, to James Edward and Annie Louise Roberson Hall. He lived his whole life in the Gilmer area. He married Nancy Goodson on June 5, 1982, in Gilmer. James was retired from ETEX Telephone COOP, and was the former Fire Chief for the Bettie Fire Department and served as the fireman’s and firemarshall’s past President of the Northeast Texas District.
Survivors include his wife: Nancy Hall; parents: James E. and Annie Hall; daughter, Dawn Moses; mother-in-law: Annette Goodson; sisters: Cassie Nelson, Debbie Stanley; grandson: Nicholas Moses; great grandchild: Payton Moses; and special grandchildren: Carla, Kayley, Jordan, Reagan, and Rosie.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 17, 2017, at the funeral home from 6 PM to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gilmer Volunteer Fire Department.
