James Gordon Roberts

Mr. James "Jim" Gordon Roberts, 62, of Big Sandy went to be with the Lord Saturday, February 28, 2015 at his residence. A graveside service for family and close friends will be held at Hoover Cemetery at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2015 in Upshur County. A memorial service for family, friends and community will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church in Gladewater with Doug Clark officiating. Mr. Roberts was born June 5, 1952 in Big Sandy to James Earl and Edna Cordell Hall Roberts. He was a lifetime resident of Big Sandy and a member of Grace Community Church in Tyler. He retired from TU Electric as a Project Designer and later Alcatel-Lucent as a Test Technician. He is survived by his wife, Emily Josephine Roberts of Big Sandy; sons, Ben Roberts and wife, Amy of Tyler, Zachary Roberts and wife, Sarah of Spanaway, WA, Caleb Roberts and wife, Som of Lacey, WA, Gramm Roberts and wife, April of Bossier City, LA and Matthew Roberts of Big Sandy; daughter, Abby Norris and husband, Ben of Union Grove; sister, Patti Rozell and husband, Rex of Big Sandy; grandchildren, Eden Claire Roberts, Emma Catherine Roberts, Andrew James Roberts, Landon Tyler Roberts, Hunter James Roberts, Kennedy Rose Roberts, Christian Gabriel Roberts, Aubrey Hayden Roberts and Sophie Mae Roberts. Mr. Roberts is preceded in death by his father, James Earl Roberts, mother, Edna Cordell Roberts, and brother, Kendall Earl Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Roberts, Zachary Roberts, Caleb Roberts, Gramm Roberts, Matthew Roberts, Ben Norris, Jerry Poole, Rex Rozell and Paul Harrington.
