James Forrister

Funeral services for James Forrister, 71, of Hawkins will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 29, 2013, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Hawkins with Bro. Jamey Itson officiating. Interment will be in the New Hope Cemetery in Wood County. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins. Mr. Forrister passed way Wednesday, December 25, 2013 in a Tyler hospice. Mr. Forrister was born on December 23, 1942, in Mineola to Thomas Edward and Florene Graham Forrister. He was a retired truck driver, lifetime resident of Hawkins and a member of the Methodist faith. Mr. Forrister is survived by his wife, Phyllis "Cindy" Forrister of Hawkins; sons, James L. Forrister of Sulphur Springs and Jimmy Dewayne Forrister of Mineola; daughters, Tammy Griffin of LaVernia, TX and Chrystal Howard of New Harmony; sisters, Charlene Brown of Quitman, Lottie Mae West of Gladewater and Pauline Lethridge of Tampa, Florida; five grandchildren, LeBeckie Forrister, Danielle Ross, Jessica Palacios, Nicholas Palacios and Kimberly Forrister; one great-granddaughter, Theresa Ross; numerous step-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, James Edward Forrister, Jr.; daughter, Theresa Forrister. Pallbearers will be Chris Patrick, Billy N. Martin, Cliff France, Joe Worsham, Antonio Palacios and Vest Townsend. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kevin Howard and Tony Griffin.
