James Donald Green

Graveside services for James Donald Green, 76, of Hawkins will be Monday, November 6, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hawkins City Cemetery in Hawkins with Chaplain David Badders officiating. Interment will follow services. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon at Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins. Mr. Green passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017 in Tyler.

Mr. Green was born June 8, 1941 in Durant, Oklahoma to the late Roscoe Green and Dorothy Crowley Green. James worked for Brookshire’s for 25 years as a computer programmer/analyst. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially in the Ozarks fly fishing for trout. In his younger days he liked to cycle and had logged many miles riding. His greatest accomplishment was his loving family and his marriage of 56 years to the love of his life. James was a great guy who never met a stranger and will be truly missed by the loving family and many friends he leaves behind.

He is survived by his adoring wife Shirley Green; son Jimmy Green and wife Audrey of Sulphur Springs; daughter Julie Chappa and husband Chris of Hawkins; two grandchildren Andy Green of College Station and Emalee Chappa of Hawkins as well as many other loving family and friends.

James is preceded in death his parents and a sister Edna Green.
