James "Dick" Brown

GILMER- Graveside Services for James "Dick" Brown, 87, of Gilmer will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at 1:00 P.M. at Oaklawn Cemetery in Mabank, TX with Phillip Bryant officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home. Mr. Brown passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016 in Gilmer. He was born on August 15, 1928 in Quanah, TX to George T. and Naomi Box Brown. He married Yvonne Bishop Brown on October 4, 1945. Mr. Brown served in the United States Air Force, and later worked as a maintenance engineer for 40 years for Mrs. Baird"s. Mr. Brown is survived by his daughter, Lavonne Jones and husband, Wayne of Gilmer; sister, Vaneta Lane of Vernon; grandchildren, Ronald James Crutsinger, Kevin Allen Crutsinger; four great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Yvonne Bishop Brown (2012); daughter, Loretta Crutsinger (1999); sister, Jewel Seaton, and his granddaughter, Christina Patterson (2001). There will be no formal visitation held.
