Graveside service for Mr. James Andrew Lee, 45, of Gilmer, TX will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer with Father Mark Dunne officiating. Mr. Lee passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 at his home in Gilmer.
James Andrew (Doc) Lee was born in San Bernardino, CA on January 16, 1974 to Norma Rodriguez (Pratt) and James Andrew Lee II . He graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1992. Andy proudly served with distinction in the United States Army as an Army Airborne Ranger and Senior Combat Medic. Doc was assigned to the 1st Ranger Battalion after completing the Medic Course, Airborne School, Ranger Indoctrination Program, and the Special Operations Medical Course. Sergeant First Class (Retired) Lee had multiple deployments to Iraq in support of the Global War on Terrorism. Andy was awarded the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, Combat Action Badge, Combat Medic Badge, Master Parachutist Wings, German Jump Wings, Ranger Tab, and numerous other awards and accommodations. His dedication and love for his fellow Rangers and completing the mission is in keeping with highest traditions of the 75th Ranger Regiment. After 22 years of honorable service, SFC Lee retired from the United States Army.
Andy is survived by his loving wife Kelli Lee; sons Joshua, Deven, Alex, and Zachary Lee; Mother Norma; step father Ronald; brother John Lee; and sister Ann Lee.
He is preceded in death by his father, James A. Lee II.
