Jake Shaw

Jake Shaw went home to be with the Lord Jesus on November 22, 2024, in Gilmer, Texas at the age of 20. He was born on September 28, 2004, in Oregon City, OR to Gary Michael and Maria Dee (Zirkle) Shaw. He graduated from Hawkins ISD and was a member of The Church at West Mountain.

Jake was an adventurer at heart, reveling in the thrills of basketball and the exhilaration of water skiing, pursuits that not only defined his vibrant personality but also mirrored his zest for life. His life’s purpose was to bring glory to the Lord in words and actions. He loved with the supernatural love of Jesus, and talked about his faith whenever he could. 

Those left to cherish his memories are his parents, Gary and Maria Shaw; sisters, Tia Duncan and husband Grant, Jodi Shaw and Phebie Shaw; nieces, Ruth and Eleanor; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, including brothers and sisters in Christ. 

A memorial service will be held on November 26, 2024, starting at 6:00PM at The Church at West Mountain in Gilmer, Texas with Rev. Eric Trimble officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Church at West Mountain.
