Jackie Wayne Essary, 64, of Gilmer, TX, passed away June 22, 2018 at 8:00 AM in Longview TX.
Jackie was born to Levy Raymond Essary and Artie Mae Essary, April 6, 1954, in Dallas, TX. He married the love of his life Suirita on October 20, 1973, and they lived together in Gilmer, TX. They were married for 44 years and raised 3 children.
He leaves as his legacy his 3 children: Tonya Mercer and husband Robert Mercer, Melissa Benson and husband Bradley Benson, and Michael Essary and wife Christy Essary. He also leaves to cherish his memory 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. His family remember him as a loving husband, father, and pawpaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents Levy and Artie Mae Essary, and two brothers Tommy and Bill Essary.
Jackie was a truck driver for Trinity Industries for 20 years. He was driven daily to provide for his wife. Aside from working, Jackie loved to spend time at home with his furbabies; Addie Mae, Zoe, Maggie, and Ricky Bear.
A Celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday June 30, 2018 at Latch Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 1-3, and the celebration of life service will start at 3. Fellowship will follow at the Family Life Center of Latch Baptist Church. Brother Leon Ross will officiate the ceremony. Services are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home. The family requests that donations be made in Jackie’s memory to Saint Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in lieu of flowers.
