Mr. Jackie Lynn "Jack" Thomas, 72, passed away on March 3, 2025, in Waxahachie, Texas.
Jack was born on December 20, 1952, at Edward's Air Force Base in California. Throughout his life, he was known for his kindness, witty personality, and vast knowledge on a variety of topics. In his younger years, he had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jack loved spending time with his family and any "puppy dog," especially his dog Boogers. Jack could often be found tinkering with different things, always eager to learn and create. He had a knack for putting smiles on the faces of people young and old, whether it be telling a joke or picking at a kiddo. He was known as "Jack" to many, but embraced his most recent self-proclaimed title, Sunny Jo's "Pappy," with great pride.
He is survived by his sister, Terri Tucker; his brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Shauna Pruitt; his brother-in-law, Steve Lucas; his children, Clay Thomas, Jaclyn Garvin, and Krista Thomas; his son-in-law, Mark Garvin; his granddaughter, Sunny Jo Garvin; and a large quantity of nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Thomas; his mother, Pat Pruitt; his brother, Dale Thomas; and his sister, Brenda Lucas.
Jack’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his legacy of love and wisdom bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
Burial was conducted at Liberty Cemetery in Hawkins, Texas under the direction of Croley Funeral Home.
