Funeral services for Jack Hester, 88, of Holly Lake Ranch will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at the Holly Tree Chapel in Holly Lake Ranch with Dr. Tim Minks, Chaplin Harold Mills and Sara Mayes officiating. Interment will be in the Holly Tree Cemetery in Wood County. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins. Mr. Hester passed way Thursday, November 14, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Hester was born on November 28, 1924, in Synder, TX to Alvin Alford and Vida Tibitha Smith Hester. He was a teacher and coach with Amarillo ISD and retired as production control manger with Docutel Corp. of Dallas, was inducted into the Coaches Hall of Fame for Amarillo High School in 1959, Marine Corp. paratrooper and an Iwo Jima veteran of World War II and was a member of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Gladys Hester of Holly Lake Ranch; son and daughter-in-law, Roy David and Judy Hester of Parker, TX; daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Tom Kingsland of San Antonio, TX, Tibbie and Richard Newman of Dallas and Nancy and Mark Wright of Dallas; sister, Delia Creola McCurly of Quitman; grandsons and spouse, Jeff and Renee Kingsland, Mitch Wright, Daniel Hester, Chris Newman and Will Wright; granddaughters and spouses, Kellie and Nat Kingsland Player, Megan and Murray Mayes McMillan, Sara Mayes, Heidi and Jason Hester Judy, Katie and Thomas Hester Knickerbocker and Abby Wright; great-grandchildren, Hannah Player, Cullen Player, Jackson Player, Samuel Player, Harper Kingsland, Zach Kingsland, Ethan Judy, Adelaide Judy, Julius Judy, Etta Knickerbocker, Arlo McMillon and Abram Knickerbocker. Pallbearers will be Jeff Kingsland, Nat Player, Murray McMillan, Daniel Hester, Thomas Knickerbocker, Jason Judy, Mitch Wright, Chris Newman and Will Wright. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 18, 2013 at Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins.
